Discover new films about dynamic and relevant social justice topics during our monthly viewing party. Come back the following Thursday for lively discussion either in-person or via Zoom.
What We'll Be Watching
May: "Driving While Black - Race, Space and Mobility in America" tells the story of Black Americans on the road, the evolution of travel and the background of a phrase rooted in realities that have been a part of the Black experience for hundreds of years - told in part through the stories of the people who lived through it.
June: "We Were Here" - An intimate, yet epic history of the AIDS years in San Francisco, as told through the stories of five longtime San Franciscans.
July: "Speak Up" - Women of African descent converse about what it means to be a woman today and belong to the Afro community.
August: "Who Does She Think She Is" - From the producing team that won an Academy Award for "Born Into Brothels" comes "Who Does She Think She Is", a film that examines some of the most pressing issues of our time: parenting and work, partnering and independence, economics and art.
