Spoken Word Performers and Poets
- Moderator for the Event: Christina Parker, aka 'Queen Cadeena the Quintessence'
- Spoken Word Artist: Madeline Garcia, aka 'Maddie G.'- Spoken word artist, author, and slam poet of Dominican Roots. Her poetry is a collage of culture, family, emotion, and love. She is a member of the Verb Benders Slam Poetry team currently ranked 3rd in the nation. She has been published in a number of anthologies but In 2022 she published her first collection of poems -A Vision of She-.
- Spoken Word Artist: Stephanie Lask, aka 'Steph Love' - A web and graphic designer, spoken word artist, teaching artist, event coordinator and host residing in Norfolk, VA. She is the slammaster for the adult slam poetry team, the Verb Benders, who are currently ranked 3rd in the nation. She also serves as a trustee and web administrator on the Board of Directors for Southern Fried Poetry Slam, Inc.
- Spoken Word Artist: Easter Dodds, aka 'Poetik Desire'- Residing in Chesapeake, VA, this poet is a tech-savvy creative spirit who first became a part of the Hampton Roads poetry scene in 2010 reviewing poetry events as The Chesapeake Poetry Examiner and has since then continued to write, share her poetry at local and online events, and has been published in various poetry collections
- Poet: Obelia Akanke, aka 'Miko Marsh'
Musician & Singer
- JoLynn Holcomb, saxophone - Manages the Russell Memorial Library in Chesapeake, VA. She has an undergraduate degree in music, but decided that food and shelter were also important, so followed up with a Master of Library and Information Science degree (MLIS).
- Silk & Honey - featuring Leila Stephanie and Sierra Alexander, Silk & Honey is a dynamic multi-genre singing group that performs for all occasions. They strive to inspire & influence through the power of music.
