Presenter:
Lisa Oliver, Funeral Director, Dignity Memorial
Lisa Oliver graduated magna cum laude from the University of Central Oklahoma where she entered with a full scholarship for baton twirling and surprised many when she chose a degree in Mortuary Science. She has been a licensed funeral director for more than 30 years. She began her career when women were commonly denied positions as funeral directors, so she opened her own funeral home in Stillwater, Oklahoma. In 2005 she moved to Texas to care for her mother and took a position with Service Corporation International.
In 2001, Lisa oversaw the memorial for eight members of the OSU Cowboys coaching staff and basketball team after they died in an airplane crash. The service was held in a stadium with thousands of attendees. With the same care and attention to detail, she has directed intimate services for thousands of families.
Lisa combines a deep knowledge of the industry with a unique sensitivity to cultural practices and personal preferences. She now specializes in helping people put their wishes in place in advance, to reduce stress for families and assure that the final plan is the right one for the deceased and those who loved them.
