Join Chesapeake author and historian Kate Livie for an entertaining look at the James Adams Floating Theater, a "magical little showboat" that shaped the life in the Chesapeake for almost 30 years.
Most of us have heard of the groundbreaking musical "Show Boat," but few realize that the story was based on an actual floating theater that brought music and entertainment to Deep Creek, Great Bridge, and the canals and tributaries of the Chesapeake. The Historical Services division of Chesapeake Parks, Recreation and Tourism presents a limited engagement lecture series that explores Chesapeake's Vibrant History!
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Light refreshments and door prizes will be provided!
Advance registration is appreciated but not required. Click here for more information about upcoming events.
